"RX7 The foundation for this graphite is "intermediate Modulus/High Strain rate" fiber (43 million) combined with a light fiberglass scrim. Bonded together with a space age resin system, this is a workhorse material. Blanks produced with this material offer superb strength, sensitivity and light weight, at a very low cost. "

Review:

I have built up three of these blanks in the past month and in the past I have been very impressed with this blank. The IST993F has 18" of soft tip and transitions right into some serious back bone. In fishing it I have noticed it has enough softness to protect four and six pound leaders, but when that brown makes a run into log jams it has the nuts to bully them back out. This blank is categorized as a salmon/steelhead blank and works equally well as a float blank or a bottom bouncing blank. For anglers looking for a rod to fish streams like Maxwell Creek and other snag infested waters this blank is an excellent choice to get the job done.
